Privacy and cookies
Last updated: 4 Nov 2026
In short
- ChipSniffer uses no trackers, advertising networks or analytics cookies.
- If you arrive at our general address, we automatically pick your country's site based on the country your IP address belongs to. Only the country, no region or city, and we don't store it.
- If you choose a language yourself, we remember it in one functional cookie. No consent is needed for that, which is why you don't see a cookie banner.
- We have no accounts and don't ask for your details. When you click through to a shop, that shop's and the affiliate network's privacy rules apply from then on.

Which data is processed?
Hosting and security
The website runs on Cloudflare's network. To deliver the site and protect it against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the requested page. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We don't get access to your IP address. Cloudflare may process data outside the EU; it does so under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Country and language
Cloudflare derives from your IP address which country you are in and passes only that country code to us. We use it to send you to that country's site, with prices from shops that deliver there, in the country's main language. We don't use your region, city or browser settings, and we don't store the country code. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing you the right prices and delivery options straight away.
Language cookie
If you choose a language yourself, we keep that choice for one year in the cookie pr_l, so you don't have to choose again every time. It only contains a language code and is not shared. You can delete it at any time in your browser.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many pages are viewed. It works without cookies, without fingerprinting your device and without tracking you individually. We only see totals (e.g. “120 visits to this page”).
Clicking through to a shop
When you click a shop button you go to the shop, sometimes via an affiliate network. That network or the shop may then set a cookie to record that you came from ChipSniffer. That happens on their website, not ours. We only see anonymous sales totals, never who you are or what exactly you bought.
Contact by e-mail
If you e-mail us, we only use your e-mail address and message to reply. We keep the e-mail for at most 12 months, unless it needs to be kept longer.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. E-mail us to exercise them. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your own country.
